Fuel Float + Filter Replacement

Driving the car for a feel days – smell petrol when ever I stop my car on the rear left section – first I thought it is overly rich in petrol during combustion. to be safe. I get the car to WP Auto to check it out.

There is a hair line crack at the top of the Fuel Float and since the Filter is in-built together – I decided to get the whole thing replaced.

Need to remove the rear seat to access to the item.

Total Damaged: RM472.76

Lubegard for GearBox

For all the car I owned  (well most) – I usually add a bottle of LubeGard when ever I replaced my Gearbox Oil – it is a high rated additives that is quite proven in the market.

It is one of the very rare third-party additives recommended by Manufacturer.

So far it is protecting my gearbox well and great!

Car Collected–Routine Service

How much can you trust the Used car dealer – Zero First thing to do after collecting the car – all the way to my trustworthy workshop – change engine oil / gearbox oil / top up power steering oil / top up brake fluid / replaced gearbox filter.

What's interesting – Power Steering oil now runs on CHF11S – no longer using DEXIII based oil – it is more expensive and it is not inter-changeable with DEXIII, so DO NOT MIX the oil

All checked and go – Total cost RM1263.52 + RM135X2 (Mobil Super 3000 from Tesco)

WorkShop Information

Like any used car - the first thing I do once I got the car - I drive all the way to my trustworthy workshop for service - I usually do not drive the car around, those used car dealers - well, not all but most of them, can't be trusted with their way of maintaining the car under their care. :-)



WP Auto is my trustworthy workshop - they have been servicing my former BMWs like my E36 328i and E39 528i.

They charge reasonably and always looking for alternative solution - rather than "replaced" - this help to keep the repair cost to a reasonable amount.

Transferring Ownership of the Car

It is a extremely tedious job to purchase a car now a days - there are changes in the rules, the buyer must be there in the JPJ to perform thumb-print verification in order to update the car registration card to your name. 

On the way to JPJ Wangsa Maju - long queue - half a day gone here. A non productive process if you ask me. Once it is done the car is mine!
